Based in Orange County, New York Orange County Choppers are an exceedingly well known manufacturer of custom motorcycles. The company was founded in 1999 and currently celebrating their anniversary after ten years since formation.
In essence OCC originated as a subsidiary of the IronWorks steel business. Its founders Paul Sr and Paul Jr Teutul enjoyed substantial success almost immediately. The formation of the company followed the entry of their first chopper bike ‘True Blue’ in the 1999 Biketoberfest at Daytona. Interestingly it was perhaps the success of Paul Sr’s steel business and his passion for chopper motorcycles that spurred the eventual foundation of Orange County Choppers.
Orange County Choppers The TV Series
The company soon became the feature of the Discovery Channel series ‘American Chopper’ in 2002 further illuminating their customization skill.
